FAQ
Short answers to the questions people ask first.
Launching
What does it cost to launch a coin?
Gas only. There is no launch fee. If you also buy your own coin in the launch transaction, that buy is a normal pool buy with the 1% fee.
Which asset should I pair my coin with?
Any asset on the list works the same way. The pair decides what buyers pay with and what your fees are paid in: a coin paired with a stock token earns its fees in that stock token. See Paired assets.
Can a creator get coins for free?
No. There are no allocations of any kind. A creator who wants to hold their coin buys it from the pool, at the pool's price, like everyone else. The launch lets the creator buy first, in the same transaction.
Can I change the name, ticker, supply or pair after launch?
No. The name, ticker and supply are fixed in the coin's contract, and the pair is fixed by its pool.
Buying and selling
Where can I trade a coin?
Anywhere that trades Uniswap v4: this site, aggregators, wallets, bots and the Uniswap app. The pool exists from the launch transaction on.
Why do I approve twice when I pay with a token?
Uniswap takes tokens through its Permit2 contract. The first approval lets Permit2 handle the token, once; the second lets Uniswap's router spend this amount. Paying with native ETH needs neither.
What does a price like 0.0₇393 ETH mean?
The small number counts the zeros after the decimal point. 0.0₇393 ETH is 0.0000000393 ETH.
How is market cap calculated?
Price times the full supply of 1,000,000,000, in the coin's asset. Dollar values use the asset's current price and are approximate.
The pool
Can anyone remove the liquidity?
No. The position belongs to the locker, which can only collect fees. It has no withdraw function, no owner, and cannot be upgraded. See Liquidity lock.
Can the price go below the start?
Not through the launch liquidity: it starts at the start price, so selling every coin bought from the pool brings the price back to the start, not lower. Anyone can add their own liquidity to a Uniswap pool at any price, and only that could take it lower. The price in dollars can also fall if the paired asset falls.
Fees and rules
How do creators claim their fees?
From Profile → Creator fees or the coin's page. A claim collects the fees still in the pool and pays them in one transaction.
Can the fees or the rules change?
No. Every parameter is fixed in the contracts. The owner can only change the treasury address, pause the creation of new coins and manage the asset list for new coins. See Admin powers.
Can anyone stop me from selling?
No contract function here can pause trading. Robinhood Chain's operator runs the sequencer and can delay or filter transactions, and an asset's issuer controls that asset's contract; see Risks.
